All of our 4th – 6th grade Wildcats wrote and delivered speeches in their classrooms. On Thursday, we had the classroom winners deliver their speeches to their peers and a panel of judges. We are so proud of all of our students! Congratulations to our school winners who will go on to compete at the district level!

TK & KINDER REGISTRATION

Please let your friends and neighbors know that Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Registration Packets are now available in the office. If you have a child entering TK or Kinder, be sure to pick up your packet. Children who turn 5 on or before September 1 are eligible for Kindergarten. Children who turn 5 after September 1 but before December 2 are eligible for Transitional Kindergarten. For more information on Enrollment visit https://www.cvesd.org/parents/welcome_to_enrollment. Registration packets will be accepted starting Wednesday, February 20th. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding registration for the 2019 -2020 school year.
SPRING PICTURE DAY
Spring Pictures will take place on Monday, February 25th. All students will be photographed. Proofs will be sent home for families after pictures are taken. After you review the proofs, you may purchase the pictures if you would like. Monday is a FREE DRESS DAY for students.
THOUGHT EXCHANGE
Loma Verde Elementary and CVESD are seeking your input regarding our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals. We will be using the online tool Thought Exchange to gather your input from March 4-March 15. Congratulations to Mrs. Youssofi’s class for having 100% attendance last week! Way to go! Loma Verde’s overall attendance was 95% last week. Our goal is 98%. Be sure to bring your child to school every day and on time. Every minute of every day counts!
BE AN ENERGY STAR CHALLENGE
Students brought home a green paper Be an Energy Star to complete during the two weeks from Sunday, Feb. 17 through Saturday, Mar. 2. Students are asked to turn off computers, TVs, and lights when leaving the house, turn off the water when brushing teeth, and take 5 minutes or showers or less. If we are the school with high participation, we will receive a FREE movie night on the lawn provided by Chula Vista Recreation Department. The grade with the highest participation will be allowed to wear pajamas to school on March 15.
