ELAC AND SSC MEETING

We will hold our ELAC meeting this month on Thursday, Feb. 21st at 8:15 am in our auditorium.  We will discuss the Local Control Accountability Plan and how you can share your input.  All parents are strongly encouraged to join us.  We hope to see you there.

If your children are at Loma Verde on a Zone Transfer, please be sure to renew your transfer for the 2019-2020 school year.

Please stop by the office to submit your Zone Transfer as soon as possible.

TK & KINDER REGISTRATION

Kindergarten Registration

Please let your friends and neighbors know that Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Registration Packets are now available in the office.  If you have a child entering TK or Kinder, be sure to pick up your packet.  Children who turn 5 on or before September 1 are eligible for Kindergarten.  Children who turn 5 after September 1 but before December 2 are eligible for Transitional Kindergarten.  For more information on Enrollment visit https://www.cvesd.org/parents/welcome_to_enrollment. Registration packets will be accepted on Wednesday, February 20th.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding registration for the 2019 -2020 school year.

 

SPRING PICTURE DAY

Spring Pictures will take place on Monday,  February 25th. All students will be photographed.  Proofs will be sent home for families after pictures are taken.  After you review the proofs, you may purchase the pictures if you would like.

Loma Verde Elementary and CVESD are seeking your input regarding our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals. We will be using the online tool Thought Exchange to gather your input from March 4-March 15.  You can read the LCAP Executive Summary here: LCAP Executive Summary (Español) LCAP Executive Summary (English)  Beginning March 4 you will have the opportunity to tell us your thoughts about our funding priorities, programs, and more. View this Video to learn more.  This is an important process for parents and stakeholders and allows for your ideas and opinions to be heard.

 

attendanceCongratulations to Ms. Navaroli’s class, Room 202, for having 100% attendance last week–way to go! Loma Verde’s overall attendance was 95.1% last week. Our goal is 98%. Be sure to bring your child to school every day on time. Every minute of every day counts!

 

SINGLE SIGN ON

All students must use their CVESD Microsoft Single Sign On (SSO) in order to access Achieve3000, Smarty Ants, and ThinkCentral (Go Math!) programs from now on.   If you receive an error message when attempting to login, you may need to clear your web browser history. Google Chrome is the preferred browser to use for these programs.   If you need assistance accessing any of our programs, please let us know. BE AN ENERGY STAR CHALLENGE

Students brought home a green paper Be an Energy Star to complete during the two weeks from Sunday, Feb. 17 through Saturday, Mar. 2.  Students are asked to turn off computers, TVs, and lights when leaving the house, turn off the water when brushing teeth, and take 5 minutes or showers or less.  If we are the school with high participation, we will receive a FREE movie night on the lawn provided by Chula Vista Recreation Department.  Chick here to get another Be an Energy Star paper EnergyStar Challenge Spanish  or EnergyStar Challenge English.  All forms are due to the office between March 4-7.  The grade with the highest participation will be allowed to wear pajamas to school on March 15.
