82018271528204490774One way to help your child succeed in school is to read to and with them every day. Did you know it’s important to read to your children all the way through elementary school?   Here’s a great article that explains why.

attendance

Did you Know?

In California, State Superintendent of Instruction Tom Torlakson hosted a forum in May to encourage agencies to work together to fight chronic absence. Also this year, the state enacted a new school funding formula which will require every school district to monitor its chronic absence rate.

Attendance is important.  It is one of the indicators the state now looks at along with academics and suspensions rates.  Please be sure to make vacations plans during the 185 days that your child(ren) are not in school.  You can find the 2019-20 and 2020-21 Calendars below. Students will perfect attendance and no tardies during the 1st quarter will be invited to a special inflatable slide party at school on the last day of the quarter.

PERFECT ATTENDANCE FOR THE WEEK!

Image result for perfect attendanceCongratulations to Mrs. Snell’s class for having 100% attendance last week!  Loma Verde’s overall attendance was 95.9% last week. Our goal is at least 98% every week. Be sure to bring your child to school every day and on time. Every minute of every day counts!
