IMPORTANT: We have provided COVID-19 testing for you or your dependents during the COVID-19 pandemic. A new California law (SB 510) took effect January 1, 2022, and requires California private insurance plans to pay for ALL COVID-19 testing received by you and your dependents at any time during the COVID-19 pandemic, at no cost to you. Additionally, federal funding via HRSA will no longer cover testing for those without insurance. To make sure you and your dependents receive the benefit of this new law, and so you do not receive a bill from us for COVID-19 testing, we need your insurance information now. Once you provide us with accurate insurance information, we will bill and accept payment from your insurance plan (at no out-of-pocket cost to you or your dependents) for any COVID-19 testing received from us in the past or in the future. But without your accurate insurance information, we cannot help you and your dependents to receive the benefit of this new law.

Summer Learning Academy
As a year-round school district, CVESD does not provide a traditional summer school experience. However, for the first time in many years, our district will offer a summer learning option called the Summer Learning Academy. This program will have very limited space and is intended to meet the needs of our students needing the highest level of academic and social-emotional support from the district. This may include students that are homeless or foster youth or students who are English Learners or students with disabilities. The Summer Learning Academy is designed to address the needs of our students in need, who may not otherwise get additional support.
Our school will be contacting families who qualify for this program directly to invite them to this Summer Learning Academy, which will not be at Loma Verde Elementary, but rather at another school in our district. Parents will need to provide transportation for their child if they qualify for this program. Please contact the school office directly with questions about this program.

Our Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences started last week. They began on Thursday, March 10, and end on Thursday, March 17. Students will have minimum days during conferences with a 1:00 PM dismissal. It is hard to believe our next break is right around the corner! Spring Break begins on March 19 and continues through April 3. Students will return to school on April 4. It will be a minimum day. We hope you enjoy the time off with your children. We encourage all our students to continue reading and practicing math over the break. The top 3 classes that raise the most money for our COIN DRIVE/ONLINE GIVING will get a 45 minute water-themed Field Day on 3/18 put on by the YMCA staff.
Each classroom will have an envelope for money collection. ALL MONEY IS DUE ON THURSDAY, 3/17 BY 1:00. Families can also donate online with the link below or use the QR code. Please include your child’s name and room number in the comments if donating online.

Estamos recaudando dinero para SouthBay YMCA. Considere donar al valioso programa que beneficia a nuestros estudiantes y la comunidad.
Las 3 clases principales que recauden la mayor cantidad de dinero para nuestra COLECTA DE MONEDAS/DONACIONES EN LÍNEA obtendrán un día de campo de 45 minutos con el tema del agua el 3 de marzo organizado por el personal de la YMCA.
Cada aula dispondrá de un sobre para la recogida de dinero. TODO EL DINERO VENCE EL JUEVES 18 de marzo a la 1:00. Las familias también pueden donar en línea con el enlace a continuación o usar el código QR. Incluya el nombre de su hijo y el número de habitación en los comentarios si realiza una donación en línea.
