The Wildcat Way August 24-28, 2026 (Week #6)

Happy 6th Week of School, Loma Verde Families!

We’re off to a fantastic start to the school year, and we are so grateful for your continued partnership and support.

📚 Thank You, Dual Immersion Families!
Thank you to all the families who attended our Dual Immersion Parent Meeting last week. We appreciate your commitment to supporting your child’s bilingual journey and value the strong home-school partnership that helps our students thrive.

📈 Attendance Update
Last week’s school-wide attendance rate was 95%. Our goal is 97% because every day of learning matters! Consistent attendance helps students build strong relationships, stay engaged in learning, and reach their full potential. Thank you for making school attendance a priority. If your child will miss school, please contact the office to arrange an Independent Study Contract so they can make up missed learning and receive attendance credit for completed work.

Home Access Center/CAASPP Scores

Accessing Student Score Reports via Home Access Center (HAC)

The Chula Vista Elementary School District uses the Home Access Center (HAC) to share Student Score Reports for both the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) and the English Learner Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC). These assessments, when combined with report card grades, classroom work, and teacher observations, provide families and educators with a more comprehensive understanding of each student’s learning progress.

Accessing Student Summary Reports for ELPAC and CAASPP

Through HAC, parents and guardians can securely view, download, and save student results quickly and conveniently. [Click here for instructions on how to log in to the Home Access Center.]

If you experience any issues logging in, please contact our front office for assistance. Please note that hard copies of score reports are not provided by the school—all results are available exclusively through the HAC system.

Multilingual English Learner Services

Loma Verde Elementary and the Chula Vista Elementary School District support Multilingual English Learners (formerly known as English Language Learners). All students classified by the state of California as MEL status participate in daily designated and integrated ELD, or English Language Development. This often looks like extra small group or one-on-one support. Please see the information below and contact your child’s teacher with any questions.

Lost and Found

LOST AND FOUND

Please note that the lost and found rack will be at the front of the school by the office.   Remember to use a permanent marker to put your child’s name on jackets, sweaters, lunch bags, and water bottles.

Gently Used Uniforms Needed

Has your child outgrown their school uniform from last year? The Loma Verde Health Office needs donations of clean uniform clothes to have on hand for children who need to change clothes. If you have any clean children’s uniform shirts, shorts, pants, or skirts that you no longer need, please bring them to the health office.

BREAKFAST & SNACKS: FREE breakfast is available for all students from 7:15-7:55. Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack from home to eat at morning recess. Students may NOT share food at school. All students eat free lunch. Click here to see the breakfast and lunch menus and nutritional information.
