Thank you for the amazing talent and energy at our Loma Verde’s Got Talent Show last week! A huge thank you to the incredibly talented Ms. Fisher for leading the acts and writing such a fun and engaging show. We are so proud of our scholars for shining on stage!

Continuing Enrollment

Many parents have been inquiring about residency verification for the upcoming 2026-27 school year, the time has finally arrived. Last week, starting on Tuesday, May 26, enrollment for continuing students launched. You should have received an email from DoNotReply@cvesd.org for each student on Tuesday, May 26. Check your inbox, spam, and junk email folders for the email. Each email will have your child’s unique snap code. If you didn’t receive an email, please call the school 619-420-3940 or email lomaverdeschool@cvesd.org.

For families with multiple children enrolled in our district, expect to receive an email for each child. Please complete the form by June 16th, 2026, to secure your child’s spot for the next academic year. If your child won’t attend a school within the Chula Vista Elementary School District next year, please inform our front office.

Medication Pick Up

Please pick up your child’s medication in the Health Office by the close of the last day of school (June 5, 2026). Medications not picked up will be discarded as per the directive of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. A new medication form, completed by the physician and signed by the parent/guardian, is needed for the coming school year. Bring the completed form and the medication as packaged by the pharmacy to school at the beginning of the next school year. Return Loma Verde Library Books

Drop off library books at the front of the school as soon as possible. Many students still have books checked out from this school year. All books must be returned to the library by the end of the school year. Thank you!

Reminders:

  • Students are still required to wear their school uniform every day unless a Uniform Waiver has been turned into the office.
  • Students should not bring toys, cards, unnecessary gadgets, or electronics to school unless approved by the classroom teacher.
  • Please send only plain water in student water bottles.
  • Please NO Gatorade, Prime, juice, etc., as this stains our carpets and attracts pests.
  • No sharing of food is allowed.
  • NO GUM AND NO CANDY, please.
  • Label lunch boxes, water bottles, and sweaters with your child’s name.
  • EVERY MINUTE COUNTS! School starts at 8:00 a.m. Students need to be on campus at this time and teachers will walk them to class. We ask all parents to exit promptly by 7:55 a.m. after the first bell.
  • To limit interruptions during instructional time in class, the only items being accepted at the front office will be items that are medically necessary for your child’s education (i.e. glasses, hearing aids, etc.). Lunches, water bottles, library books, and homework will no longer be accepted. We appreciate your understanding of our policy. Thank you!

We Need You! 2026-2027 School Site Council Parent & Community Member Elections

We are looking for parents and community members who are interested in being part of our Loma Verde School Site Council. There are 5 parents/community members on this committee who serve a 2-year term. If you are interested in running for our Loma Verde School Site Council, please click here to put your name on the ballot. SSC elections will be held the week of 5/26/26. The meetings are once a month, on a Tuesday, from 3-4:00 pm. SSC helps make decisions on school safety and how to spend our LCAP and Title 1 funds. Open Enrollment for New Students 2026-2027 School Year

The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) has open enrollment for new Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten students for the 2026–27 school year. Eligibility for the next school year includes:

  • TK: Children who turn 4 on or before September 1, 2026
  • Kindergarten: Children who turn 5 on or before September 1, 2026

Every Minute Counts!

Did you know that being just 5 minutes late each day can add up to a significant loss of learning time over the course of the school year? Every minute matters—especially in the morning when routines are set and learning begins.

Please take a moment to talk with your child about the importance of arriving at school on time every day. Building strong habits now sets the tone for a successful day and a successful year!

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Line-Up Time: 2nd-6th grade students should be lined up on the blacktop by 7:55 AM. TK-1st grade students should be in the auditorium by 7:55 AM.
  • Start Time: Classes begin promptly at 8:00 AM.
  • Gate Closure: For the safety and security of our campus, all gates will close at 8:00 AM.

After 8:00 AM, students must enter through the office and will be marked tardy.

2026-27 School Year-Round Calendar

Please be sure to plan family events around our scheduled school breaks so that students can attend school every day. LOMA VERDE SPIRIT GEAR IS FOR SALE

We are selling Loma Verde spirit shirts and hoodies at school. The T-shirts are $15 and the sweatshirts cost $33. (Cash only at this time.) Students can wear the spirit t-shirts and sweatshirt any day of the week OR the uniform shirt. Order forms can be picked up in the office or click here. Let’s show our school spirit, Wildcats! Please make sure to write your child’s first and last name inside their hoodie.

PARKING, DROP-OFF, AND PICK-UP

Arrival & Dismissal Reminders

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation during drop-off and pick-up. To keep everyone safe and things running smoothly:

  • Use only the designated drop-off/pick-up zones.
  • If you need to leave your car, park in the lot—not the bus loop.
  • No dogs on campus during arrival or dismissal.
  • Do not park in RESERVED or staff spaces.
  • Students must walk bikes on sidewalks.

Morning Drop-Off Times:

  • 7:15–7:55 AM for students eating breakfast
  • 7:30–8:00 AM for all others
    2nd-6th grader students line up on the blacktop and are picked up by teachers at 8:00 AM. Instruction begins promptly at 8:00—students arriving after this time are marked tardy. TK-1st grade students sit in the auditorium at their assigned table. The teacher will pick up the students at 8:00 a.m.

SDC Preschool & Preschool: Follow your teacher’s specific drop-off and pick-up instructions.

Afternoon Pick-Up:

  • Students not picked up by 2:45 PM (or 1:15 PM on minimum days) will be taken to the office and must be signed out.
  • Parents must sign into the Raptor System to enter the campus to drop off their student beginning 1/2026. Parents must exit by the first bell at 7:55 am.

Let’s all remember to be patient, kind, and considerate—thank you for helping us keep Loma Verde safe and welcoming for everyone!

Gently Used Uniforms Needed

Has your child outgrown their school uniform? The Loma Verde Health Office needs donations of clean uniform clothes to have on hand for children who need to change clothes. If you have any clean children’s uniform shirts, shorts, pants, or skirts that you no longer need, please bring them to the health office. We are also accepting donations of new, packaged underwear for this purpose.

BREAKFAST & SNACKS: FREE breakfast is available for all students from 7:15-7:55. Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack from home to eat at morning recess. LOST AND FOUND

Please note that the lost and found rack will be at the front of the school by the office.   Remember to use a permanent marker to put your child’s name on jackets, sweaters, lunch bags, and water bottles.
