Visitor Sign-In Reminders

Visitor Sign-In: All visitors on campus after the start of the bell and during school hours must be signed in at the front office. Please be prepared to bring your I.D. and sign in via the Raptor Visitor Management System. If you are attending an event, come early to sign in.

Birthday Celebrations & CVESD Wellness Policy

CVESD has a Wellness Policy: Birthday Celebrations- No celebratory food items will be allowed on school sites during the school day in celebration of a student’s birthday. Please do not make arrangements to give students food items before or after school on the property. Some students have allergies. All it takes is for a student to eat an item with peanuts and they can become very ill in a matter of seconds. Help us keep all Wildcats safe by following the CVESD Wellness Policy. To learn more, visit the following Link Bp 5030.

Loma Verde 2nd Quarter Clubs & Sports

We have many FREE clubs, sports, and enrichment opportunities for students to participate in before and after school. Our LEAD site lead staff, Mrs. Jackie, will email parents to inform them that their child is in the LEAD club or sport. Please contact jacqueline.sandoval@cvesd.org with questions.

If your child is in a LEAD club, have them go to the lunch arbor area after school on the day of their club. Here they will have a school-provided snack while they wait to be picked up by the instructor at 2:45 p.m. Remember to please fill out the Release to Participate form that will be sent home with your child and return it to the office.

Parent Mini CABE Conferences Is Coming Up!

If you would like to attend, Loma Verde parent involvement funds will cover the cost. Please notify Elsa in the front office if you are interested in attending.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

Students need to be at school every day and on time. Please make sure your child is here by 7:55 a.m. and lined up on the blacktop (1st-6th grade) or by the classroom (TK-kinder). Let’s continue to improve our attendance! If your child must be out sick, please contact the office at 619-420-3940 or lomaverdeschool@cvesd.org to excuse the absence. Remember to bring a doctor’s note. Vacations, dentist, and doctor visits should be scheduled during our breaks whenever possible. If your child misses school, they are missing out on important learning! Our school staff will be meeting with parents/guardians, calling home, and doing home visits for students who are chronically absent.

  • LET’S CONTINUE TO IMPROVE OUR ATTENDANCE AT LOMA VERDE!
  • Students should only miss school if they are sick. Those with symptoms can return with a negative Covid test, no fever for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication, and symptoms improving. STUDENTS DO NOT NEED TO BE SYMPTOM-FREE to attend school. We have plenty of rapid tests at school–just ask in the office. If you have a special circumstance and need an independent study, please let us know.
  • We begin a secure campus at 8:00 a.m. Parents/guardians must exit promptly at 8:00. Thank you.
  • Students can arrive as early as 7:15 a.m.
  • FREE breakfast is served from 7:15 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.
  • Absences that are not reported will be considered UNEXCUSED. After 3 unexcused absences and/or tardies you will receive a truancy letter.
  • If you pick up your child/children early and/or they are tardy for personal reasons this is considered unexcused.
  • Remember to bring a doctor’s note. Vacations, dentist, and doctor visits should be scheduled during our breaks whenever possible.
  • If your child misses school, they are missing out on important learning!
  • Our school staff will be scheduling SART (School Attendance Review Team) meetings with parents/guardians, calling home, and doing home visits for students who are chronically absent (missing 10% of school or excessive tardies).
  • Thank you for helping to get your child to school every day and one time!

Please Monitor What Your Child Watches on TV, Videos, and Games

Parents and guardians, you can help build a peaceful school community. Please monitor the videos, shows, and games your child is viewing and playing. Common Sense Media is a great resource for parents to learn parenting tips for the digital age. Acting out or discussing inappropriate content is not permitted at school. Play fighting or simulating a weapon is not allowed at school.

REMINDERS

  • EVERY MINUTE COUNTS! School starts at 8:00 a.m. Students need to be on the blacktop at this time and teachers will walk them to class. We ask all parents to exit promptly by 8:00 a.m. so that we can lock the gate after the bell.
  • Please send a water bottle with your child. Water bottles can be filled at the classroom sink or outside drinking fountains.
  • Label lunch boxes, water bottles, and sweaters with your child’s name!
