School Average Attendance for the week of February 1-5, 2021 = 94.3%

Be sure your child attends school every day, on time, and for the entire class period. Attendance is a very important part of Distance Learning! Cameras should be on and students need to participate. Students are also required to complete their “asynchronous work” assignments that are done when they are not meeting live with the teacher.

Testing – Anne Arundel County Department of Health

CVESD Safe! COVID-19 Testing

We are happy to announce that the next round of Antibody and Viral Testing for COVID-19 will take place before and after the Presidents’ Day weekend. In addition to students and their families, all staff members are invited to participate. Testing is voluntary and is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (no appointments scheduled during 12-1 lunch break). The following schools/locations are hosting the program:

  • Wednesday, February 17 @ Lauderbach Elementary, 390 Palomar Street, Chula Vista, 91911.
  • Thursday, February 18 @ Finney Elementary, 3950 Byrd Street, Chula Vista, 92154.

The antibody test consists of a light fingerprick; results as quickly as 15 minutes for those who stay around for their results.  The viral test is the shallow nose swab test, not the deep into the brain type; results available within three-to-four business days.

Participants have the option of only doing one of the tests or both, and they are offered at no cost (covered through health insurance or reimbursable to testing provider Kahala Biosciences under the CARES Act for those who do not have insurance).

Per employee requests, immediate family/household members are also eligible to participate in these testing opportunities. To schedule an appointment, please click here or cut and paste the following into your web browser: https://kahalabiosciences.com/cvesd-safe/    Thanks again for your support of CVESD Safe!, our voluntary testing and tracing program.

The CVESD Caring Crew and YOU!

We would like to remind our entire community that following the four pillars of health can prevent the spread of COVID-19. As we prepare for the eventual return of some students to campus in phases, our District and school will be enforcing the four core principles (also known as four pillars) for the prevention of COVID-19. These include: 1) Daily Health Screenings, 2) Mask Wearing, 3) Physical Distancing, and 4) Frequent Hand Washing.

Computer Devices & WIFI to Loan Families

We recommend each student have their own laptop with a camera and microphone for Distance Learning.  Some tablets have compatibility issues with the Microsoft Teams platform and online learning programs.

If your child needs a device or wifi hotspot, please complete and submit this form below, so we can plan and prepare the devices for distribution.  If you do not need a device or hotspot, please do not fill out this form. Please fill out a form for each child who needs a device.  Do not fill out for a child who previously received a device.  We will notify you when you device and/or WIFI hotspot are ready.
