Parent/Teacher Conferences begin this Thursday, March 14 – 21. Minimum Day Schedule begins THURSDAY until the end of this quarter.  Students are dismissed at 1:00 p.m. each day.

6th grader Samantha Garcia was recognized at the CVESD Board Meeting last week for taking 1st place in the 6th-grade Speech Contest.

Parents learned about community resources and the TB outbreak from a community nurse during Coffee with the Principal last Wednesday.

ENGLISH LEARNER ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING

elac_image7We will hold our next English Learner Advisory Committee Meeting on Monday,  March 11 at 8:15 am in the auditorium.  We will share information about the ThoughExchange share process.  In addition, we will discuss parent conferences and answer any questions you may have.  All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend!

 

 

Loma Verde A to Z Salad Bar Lunch for Students & Parents

Parent and guardians are welcome to join us on 3/14 during your child’s lunch for the “Apples to Zucchini Salad Bar”.  Parent must sign into the office and obtain a visitor pass prior to eating with their child.  We will have picnic tables on the lawn near the auditorium.  Parents can also bring blankets.  There will be various community resources for families.  Students will eat for free.  Adults cost is $4.00.  Non-student children ages 1-12 are $2.50. (Cash only).  No outside food will be allowed for this event. Please join us!

 

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

Our Spring Parent Teacher Conferences begin this week! Our parent-teacher conferences begin Thursday, March 14 and end Thursday, March 21.  Please make every effort to attend the scheduled conference to discuss your child’s progress.  Our teachers and students will share very important information and you will have an opportunity to ask questions about your child’s progress this school year.

Donate your clean, gently used uniforms to the office. During conferences on 3/18-3/22, we will have a table set up out front with gently used uniforms.  We will be giving these away for free.

SATURDAY SCHOLARS RETURNS!students wanted

Does your 4th, 5th or 6th-grade child have any interest in the medical field?Then Saturday Scholars is just the program for your curious student.  It is held every Saturday for five weeks (April 20, 27, May 4,11 and 18).  Your child has the opportunity to learn about the science of medicine and details about possible medical careers.  Enrollment is limited to 30 students and all accepted applicants MUST attend all 5 sessions.  Be on the lookout for applications during the week of March 11-15.  For any questions, please see Mrs. Romero in Room 602.

Free Parenting Classes for parents of children ages 6-12 offered by Jewish Family Services and South Bay Community Services. This is a great class and resource! Childcare provided.  This class is offered in Spanish.  Call the number listed for more information and to register.  Call the number below for information on classes offered in English.
