Happy New Year and Welcome Back! We are excited to begin the second semester for the 2018-19 school year.  School begins on Tuesday, January 15th.  It is a minimum day.  Students are dismissed at 1:00.

We have a lot going on this quarter including our Speech Contest, Read Across America, ELPAC testing, and parent-teacher conferences.  Our Loma Verde soccer teams will be playing games each week.  Please check our blog regularly for the most current information.

coffee chatWednesday, January 16th: Coffee with the Principal – Topic: Wellness Policy & Physical Fitness Testing at 8:15-9:15 a.m. in the auditorium.  Please come and join us! Babysitting and coffee will be provided along with translation in Spanish.

 

PTO BOARD FOR 2018-2019

Math 24 After-school Program starts back on Thursday, January 17th from 2:30-4:00.

 

run clubOur new Morning Mileage Club will be starting up soon!  We need parent volunteers to help out each morning from 7:30-7:55.  Please contact Bree Watson at bree.watson@cvesd.org if you are able to help out a few mornings each week.  Thank you!

Preschool Openings!  Chula Vista Promise Neighborhood has a preschool, “Escuelita del Futuro,” located on the Castle Park Elementary campus.    There are openings for the afternoon session for children 3-5 years old.    It is a dual language program that runs for 3 hours, Monday-Friday, and we follow the year-round calendar.   This schedule is 1:00 – 4:00 PM.  Any family that has children going to the 7 schools of the grant or live in the area is eligible to enroll their young children.    The children need to be totally potty trained (no pull-up diapers).  Clink on the links below for more information. screen shot 2019-01-11 at 4.41.24 pm
