VETERANS DAY HOLIDAY
Monday, November 11th is Veterans Day. We thank all our Veterans for their service and sacrifice. School will be closed on Monday in observance of the holiday.
FEDERAL SURVEY
Last week, every student received a yellow Federal Survey Card. Please complete the yellow form as soon as possible and return to your child’s teacher. The survey helps all schools qualify for Federal Impact Aid. We greatly appreciate your participation in filling out this important survey.
HOLIDAY CANNED FOOD DRIVE AND TOY DRIVE
The Chula Vista Welfare Council, the Chula Vista Elementary School District and the Chula Vista Police Action League will all be working together to collect canned food and new unwrapped toys. Please drop off new toys, canned foods, pasta, and rice between November 4 and November 22 in our Office. All the food and toys will be donated to the Welfare council for later distribution.
Community Connect Donation Drive – Bottled Water Needed
Our community will work with other schools in our cohort to collect donations for Community Connect Bags. Our student leaders will collect donations from our students and families and then work with our cohort to create community connect bags for those in need. Loma Verde students will be collecting cases of water for the bags during the month of October. If you are willing to donate a case of water or money to help us purchase water, we would greatly appreciate it! Please get your children involved so they feel what a joy it is to serve others. Water donations may be submitted to the auditorium or the main office by November 15th.

Our next School Site Council Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 15th at 3:00 pm in Room 404. We invite all parents and community members to attend. We will share our Comprehensive School Safety Plan and our Single Plan for Student Achievement. We look forward to seeing you there!
Mark your calendars now for Loma Verde’s Red Ribbon Week. The week, October 28-November 1, will begin with an all-school assembly and include Spirit Days and many other activities throughout the week. The theme this year is Send a Message, Stay Drug Free.
