Welcome Back to School!

Dear Loma Verde Families,
Thank you for the amazing talent and energy at our Loma Verde Variety Show last week! A huge thank you to the incredibly talented Ms. Fisher for leading the acts and writing such a fun and engaging show. We are so proud of our scholars for shining on stage!
We also extend our gratitude to Ms. Jackie and the LEAD clubs for an outstanding LEAD Showcase! It was inspiring to see students present their new skills, talents, and projects. We’re so proud of our instructors and student participants.
This is our last week of school, filled with exciting learning and events. See the details in the calendar below.
We have just 5 more days of school! Please note that Friday, June 6th is a minimum day.
We wish all our Loma Verde families a safe and joyful summer—keep reading and practicing your math!
Warmly,
Loma Verde Staff

Many parents have been inquiring about residency verification for the upcoming 2025-26 school year, the time has finally arrived. Last week, starting on Tuesday, May 27, enrollment for continuing students launched. You should have received an email from DoNotReply@cvesd.org for each student on Tuesday, May 27. Check your inbox, spam, and junk email folders for the email. Each email will have your child’s unique snap code. If you didn’t receive an email, please call the school 619-420-3940 or email lomaverdeschool@cvesd.org.
For families with multiple children enrolled in our district, expect to receive an email for each child. Please complete the form by June 6th, 2025, to secure your child’s spot for the next academic year. If your child won’t attend a school within the Chula Vista Elementary School District next year, please inform our front office.

Please pick up your child’s medication in the Health Office by the close of the last day of school (June 6, 2024). Medications not picked up will be discarded as per the directive of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. A new medication form, completed by the physician and signed by the parent/guardian, is needed for the coming school year. Bring the completed form and the medication as packaged by the pharmacy to school at the beginning of the next school year. Please check the expiration date to be sure the medication is current for the next school year. Administer Medication Parent Request Form

Drop off library books at the front of the school as soon as possible. Many students still have books checked out from this school year. All books must be returned to the library by the end of the school year. Thank you!

There are 5 parents/community members on this committee that serve a 2-year term. Hello Loma Verde Families!
Just a quick reminder that there will be no school on Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day. We hope you enjoy the long weekend and take a moment to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. 🇺🇸 We’ll see everyone back at school on Tuesday, May 27—ready to learn and finish the school year strong! Have a safe and happy holiday weekend!

Thank you to our AMAZING Loma Verde volunteers! We are so grateful for your help and support to make this school year special for our students and staff! We honored our volunteers at a breakfast on Thursday, May 22 with a performance from our kindergarten students and Primary Music Club. We look forward to a wonderful school year in 2025-2026 with your continued support. Your partnership is necessary and appreciated! Please contact your child’s teacher or the principal, Bree Watson, bree.watson@cvesd.org, to volunteer.

Did you know that being just 5 minutes late each day can add up to a significant loss of learning time over the school year? Every minute matters! Please take a moment to talk with your child about the importance of arriving at school on time every day.

Here’s what you need to know:
Help your child build strong habits and maximize their learning time. Being on time sets the tone for a successful day!

All of us at Loma Verde want to thank our families and community members in advance for their patience and understanding as we try to accommodate the many vehicles that arrive each morning and afternoon at our school. We strongly recommend that families use the drop-off and pick-up areas we have established at school. Drop off students only in the drop-off zone.
