Mark Your Calendars for RED RIBBON WEEK 10/27-10/31
Loma Verde is proud to celebrate Red Ribbon Week, a nationwide campaign that promotes drug prevention and healthy lifestyle choices among students through education and school-wide activities.
Our celebration kicks off with an all-school assembly and continues throughout the week with Spirit Days and a variety of engaging activities. This year’s theme is:
Life is a Puzzle. Solve it, Drug Free!
We look forward to a fun and meaningful week as we empower students to make healthy choices and live drug-free lives! Here is a LINK for taking the pledge together with your child.
Red Ribbon Week Pledge:
I pledge to grow up safe, healthy, and drug-free by:
- Understanding the dangers of drug use and abuse
- Respecting myself and being drug-free
- Spreading the word to family and friends about the importance of being healthy and drug-free

Students are welcome to wear costumes to school! Please follow these guidelines when selecting a costume:

- No blood, gore, or graphic elements.
- No fake weapons (guns, swords, knives, etc.) or anything resembling a weapon.
- Costumes must be manageable without adult assistance.
- If you’re unsure whether a costume is appropriate, ask your teacher for guidance.

Birthday Celebrations & CVESD Wellness Policy
CVESD has a Wellness Policy: Birthday Celebrations- No celebratory food items will be allowed on school sites during the school day in celebration of a student’s birthday. Please do not make arrangements to give students food items before or after school on the property. Some students have allergies. All it takes is for a student to eat an item with peanuts and they can become very ill in a matter of seconds. Help us keep all Wildcats safe by following the CVESD Wellness Policy.

Please Monitor What Your Child Watches on TV, Videos, and Games
Parents and guardians, you can help build a peaceful school community. Please monitor the videos, shows, and games your child is viewing and playing. Common Sense Media is a great resource for parents to learn parenting tips for the digital age. Acting out or discussing inappropriate content is not permitted at school. Play fighting or simulating a weapon is not allowed at school.
