Continuing Student Enrollment Now Open for 2024-2025
The 2024-25 continuing student re-enrollment for current CVESD students is now open. Please check your inbox, spam, and junk email folders for an important email containing your child’s unique re-enrollment link. Don’t forget the form is due by June 7. If you didn’t receive an email, please call the school 619-420-3940 or email lomaverdeschool@cvesd.org. All families must complete the re-enrollment process for ALL students by June 7 to be put on a class roster for the 2024-2025 school year.
For students attending CVESD under an Interdistrict Attendance Permit, the process is slightly different. After the submission, parents/guardians will receive a notification once the permit is approved. If you’re considering a Zone Transfer, please reach out to your child’s school office directly for further guidance. If your child will not attend CVESD next school year, parents/guardians must notify their child’s school before the end of the year. However, please note that CVESD does not require notification for students transitioning to the Sweetwater Union High School District for seventh grade. In this case, please register directly on their website to ensure a smooth transition for your child.
To secure your child’s place for the upcoming school year, all re-enrollment forms must be submitted by June 7, 2024. For additional information, please contact your child’s school or visit the Continuing Student Enrollment page.
Week #38 Highlights
It was a very eventful week last week! We honored Andrea Morfin as our Optimist Award winner, enjoyed the talents of our Loma Verde students at the “Remote Control” Variety Show thanks to Ms. Fisher, learned about science at our Saturday Scholar Showcase for all to see, and had visiting firefighters to share about their career for our 6th graders. We are grateful for our staff and community volunteers who make Loma Verde an extra special place to learn! Thank you!

We Need You! 2024-2025 School Site Council Parent & Community Member Elections
We are looking for parents and community members that are interested in being part of our Loma Verde School Site Council. There are 5 parents/community members on this committee that serve a 2-year term. If you are interested in running for our Loma Verde School Site Council, please click here to put your name on the ballot. SSC elections will be held at the start of the new school year. The meetings are once a month, on a Tuesday, from 3-4:00 pm. SSC helps make decisions on school safety and how to spend our LCAP and Title 1 funds. Contact bree.watson@cvesd.org if you have questions. SSC Parent/Community Member Nomination Form

Medication Pick Up
Please pick up your child’s medication in the Health Office by the close of the last day of school (June 5, 2024). Medications not picked up will be discarded as per the directive of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. A new medication form, completed by the physician and signed by the parent/guardian, is needed for the coming school year. Bring the completed form and the medication as packaged by the pharmacy to school at the beginning of the next school year. Please check the expiration date to be sure the medication is current for the next school year. Administer Medication Parent Request Form

Return Loma Verde Library Books
Drop off library books at the front of the school as soon as possible. Many students still have books checked out from this school year. All books must be returned to the library by the end of the school year. Thank you!

Have You Changed Your Address, Email, or Phone Number?
Have you changed your address, email address, or phone number since the start of the school year? Please notify the office at lomaverdeschool@cvesd.org in case we need to contact you in an emergency. Not returning to Loma Verde Next Year? Please let us know as soon as possible by sending an email to lomaverdeschool@cvesd.org.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
Did you know that if your child is out of school for three or more days, you can request an independent study contract? If an independent study contract is completed, your child receives attendance credit. For more information, you can contact Maggie Rivera (619-420-3940)

Students need to be at school every day and on time. Please make sure your child is here by 7:55 a.m. and lined up on the blacktop (1st-6th grade) or by the classroom (TK-kinder). Let’s continue to improve our attendance! If your child must be out sick, please contact the office at 619-420-3940 or lomaverdeschool@cvesd.org to excuse the absence. Remember to bring a doctor’s note. Vacations, dentist, and doctor visits should be scheduled during our breaks whenever possible. If your child misses school, they are missing out on important learning! Our school staff will be meeting with parents/guardians, calling home, and doing home visits for students who are chronically absent.
Week #38 TK-6th grade attendance average: 92.2% (Goal is 98% or higher)
Yearly to date (7/19/23-5/31/24) average attendance: 94.7% (Goal is 98%)
Please visit this page for helpful resources on improving your child’s attendance: https://www.cvesd.org/parents/attendance-information.
- LET’S CONTINUE TO IMPROVE OUR ATTENDANCE AT LOMA VERDE!
- Students should only miss school if they are sick. Those with symptoms can return with a negative Covid test, no fever for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication, and symptoms improving. STUDENTS DO NOT NEED TO BE SYMPTOM-FREE to attend school. We have plenty of rapid tests at school–just ask in the office. If you have a special circumstance and need an independent study, please let us know.
- We begin a secure campus at 8:00 a.m. Parents/guardians must exit promptly at 8:00. Thank you.
- Students can arrive as early as 7:15 a.m.
- FREE breakfast is served from 7:15 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.
- Absences that are not reported will be considered UNEXCUSED. After 3 unexcused absences and/or tardies you will receive a truancy letter.
- If you pick up your child/children early and/or they are tardy for personal reasons this is considered unexcused.
- Thank you for helping to get your child to school every day and one time!

We are also accepting donations of new, packaged underwear for this purpose.
